The King’s COVID-19 Response Fund is made up of five key areas. You can find further information about each of these areas via the links below.
When making a donation we will ask you to select the area that interests you the most. However, all donations will go towards the collective COVID-19 Response Fund in the first instance, and will be used where the need is greatest.
If you chose to make a donation towards the King’s Global Day of Giving: Donate Early, all donations will be used towards the Global Day of Giving Fund and used where the need is greatest. Please contact us if you would like to find out more (see How to contact us).
Gift Aid is a scheme which allows Charities to reclaim basic rate tax paid on any money donated to them by UK taxpayers either at a basic rate of 20% or a higher rate of 40%.
When making a donation we will ask if you would like to add “Gift Aid”. Adding Gift Aid means we can reclaim the tax on your donation and receive an extra 25p from the Government for every £1 you donate. This means that if you donate £10 and use Gift Aid, it is actually worth £12.50. It will not cost you any more.
You can use Gift Aid if the amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax you have paid, in any tax year (from 6th April one year to 5th April the next) covers the amount of tax we will reclaim on your donations.
To qualify for Gift Aid you must be a UK taxpayer and meet the requirements of the Government Gift Aid scheme (which may change from time to time). It is your responsibility to determine whether you are eligible for Gift Aid, and we are unable to give you any form of legal, financial or tax advice. If you are eligible, we will ask you to tick a box to declare it. You can find out more about the Gift Aid scheme here.
If you no longer pay UK tax at any time after making a donation and declaring you are eligible for Gift Aid, you must let us know (see How to contact us).
When making a donation we will ask how you would like us to display your contribution on our online donor wall and donations page. You may choose to show your name and the amount of your donation; your name only; or remain anonymous. See our Privacy Policy to find out more about how we handle your personal information.
We will only cancel and refund your donation in limited circumstances. For example, we will do so if:
We cannot refund your donation if you change your mind. However, if you make a mistake when making a donation or if someone has used your credit / debit card fraudulently to make a donation, please contact us immediately (see How to contact us).
We will handle any personal information that you provide to us in connection with a donation in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Each of the paragraphs of these Donations Terms operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect.
No one other than you and us will be able to enforce any part of these Donation Terms.
These Donations Terms are governed by English law. You and we agree to submit all disputes arising out of or in connection with these Donations Terms to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts, except that if you are a resident of Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland, and if you are resident of Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.
We may need to change these Donations Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law. Please read these Donations Terms carefully each time you make a donation.
